Vetted Researchers

For independent researchers, including those holding professional degrees and licenses, whose work has no commercial, promotional, or organizational connection to the estrangement industry. Access is selective.

Professional status is determined by what you do, not what you call yourself. If you hold a professional license and practice within, alongside, or in service of the estrangement industry, have published books, maintain a public platform or following of any size, or derive income, audience, or influence from content, coaching, media, or programs built around estrangement, you are not engaging with this work as a private parent. This applies equally to the largest names and platforms in that industry, to the licensed professionals whose practices feed it, and to those operating around it: Mediators and reconciliation services, academics and authors publishing for it, publishers, producers, and documentary makers, speakers, operators of paid groups, communities, forums, or apps, nonprofits and advocacy organizations fundraising on it, and anyone marketing, brokering, or facilitating any of the above. Self-identifying as a parent does not override a professional footprint. Parental Discard is not estrangement and does not compete with that industry. It is a copyrighted and trademarked body of work and is enforced as one. All use requires written authorization from the author, M.F. Shaw, MSPSY.
